This house of the youth is an adjoining part to the Mother House, where the young live, pray and grow up in the image of Christ: “Meanwhile the child grew up and his spirit grew strong. “ |

| In 1940, when the Congregation of the Basilian Chouerites Nuns passed from monastic life to missionary life, the house at Zouk-Michaël began to rise up under the wise directives of the first Superior General, Mother Macrine Charmi. Nuns, Nivices and postulants still lived in the Convent Saint Elie at Zahlé. |

In1954, this house was completed and the young missionary congregation moved from St Elie at Zahlé to the Convent of Our Lady of the Annunciation at Zouk-Michaël. The formation of the sisters, both academic and religious, was given, in this house, by the Chouerite Fathers, the elder sisters and some teachers from college Saint-Joseph-Antoura.

Since 1988, the number of candidates to the religious life decreased. The young sisters go to neighbouring scholastic establishments or to universities for the academic and religious studies; some formation continue to be given, in this house, by qualified Nuns and specialists in an environment of peace, quietness and meditation. |

The house was restored that year, in a well planned manner in response to the skills of present times. The young sisters, returning from their classes, find in it quietness, peace and warmth thanks to the assistance of the curate general and the elder sisters. May the Lord send us Holy vocations. |
